  "Description": "Algorithms implementing populations of agents that\ninteract with one another and sense their environment may\nexhibit emergent behavior such as self-organization and swarm\nintelligence. Here, a swarm system called Databionic swarm\n(DBS) is introduced which was published in Thrun, M.C., Ultsch\nA.: \"Swarm Intelligence for Self-Organized Clustering\" (2020),\nArtificial Intelligence, <DOI:10.1016/j.artint.2020.103237>.\nDBS is able to adapt itself to structures of high-dimensional\ndata such as natural clusters characterized by distance and/or\ndensity based structures in the data space. The first module is\nthe parameter-free projection method called Pswarm (Pswarm()),\nwhich exploits the concepts of self-organization and emergence,\ngame theory, swarm intelligence and symmetry considerations.\nThe second module is the parameter-free high-dimensional data\nvisualization technique, which generates projected points on\nthe topographic map with hypsometric tints defined by the\ngeneralized U-matrix (GeneratePswarmVisualization()). The third\nmodule is the clustering method itself with non-critical\nparameters (DBSclustering()). Clustering can be verified by the\nvisualization and vice versa. The term DBS refers to the method\nas a whole. It enables even a non-professional in the field of\ndata mining to apply its algorithms for visualization and/or\nclustering to data sets with completely different structures\ndrawn from diverse research fields.
